The Checkout-Checkin module allows for keeping even better track of what equipment actually goes out and what comes in, by using bar-coded items.

 Checking out.

When the job is going out, the list of the equipment is shown onscreen.

The warehouse-staff scans all items that are actually going out. The CheckOut/CheckIn module compares the scanned items with the items in the job. If an item has a serialnumber in the bar-code,  that serialnumber is also recorded.

After scanning all items, the list of scanned items will be compared with the list of items entered in the job, and you will be presented a survey of all differences between the two.

You may now:

·     Change one or more of the items that are actually going out. (this involves ‘return-scan’ of  item(s) followed by a new ‘out-scan’)

·     Accept the diffences between the two lists. In that case, the equipment-list in the job is altered to match the list of what is actually going out. If a price-difference arises from this situation, the user may decide to alter the (deal)price of the job.

Of course, a combination of the two above mentioned options is also possible.

 Checking in.

When goods return, a similar work method is used:

First, the jobnumber is chosen, and the equipment list appears on screen. This is ofcourse, the list of goods that actually went out, including all alterations that might have occurred during the Checkout-phase.

All returned equipment is again being scanned. All differences between the equipment that originally went out and the equipment that is now returned (including different serialnumbers!) is shown on a shortage list. The user may decide what action to take, depending on the reason of shortage, if such a shortage occurs.

Scanning can be done either in online-modus (each scanned item is entered into the computer immediately after scanning) or in batch-modus (the scanning device stores all information and after connection to a docking-station, all stored information is sent to the computer).
